Design of a suite of communication tools for the EAA conference

Glasgow University are the 2015 hosts of the annual European Association of Archaeologists conference. The largest conference of its kind in Europe. They were looking to develop a brand identity, promotional and informational website, printed programme and bespoke tartan.

Post Creative developed the conference identity, reflecting the location and subject matter in a way that departed from previous rather ‘dry’ conference materials. Following the identity development we worked on the UX / UI design of the website and created a custom WordPress website.

Key goals of the website were to attract sponsorship, inform delegates of the conference details and encourage registration. I also designed a bespoke tartan as part of the branding which has now been made into kilts. Later in the year I will be working on the design of the conference programme.

Tartan textile design for the EAA Conference

As part of the EAA conference branding and promotional materials project we designed and developed a bespoke, contemporary tartan. As an integral part of the design process the tartan was developed in conjunction with the brand style and used as a graphical device across the online and offline promotional materials.

Working with the client we had the tartan woven by a mill and developed into kilts and ties to be sold as conference merchandise.
